Alberto Moreno Doña
Alberto Moreno Doña was born in Jerez de la Frontera but adopted by Chile. Passionate about education and very critical with the School as institution. Pedagogical activist currently involved with the KOMUNUMO NGO and collaborating with the school with the same name. KOMUNUMO is a word in Esperanto and its meaning is COMMUNITY.
He currently works in the Universidad de Valparaíso, public university in the 5th Region in Chile. He is a professor in the Child Education School, which curiously is part of the Faculty of Medicine in that University.
He is permanent member of the Doctorate Faculty in Interdisciplinary Studies about Thinking, Culture and Society in the same university where he teaches. He is also part of the Fondecyt Education Study Group (National Fund for Scientific and Technological Development in Chile) and a permanent member in the Interprofessional Education Commission in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Valparaiso.
He is currently leading the Fondecyt Regular research project “El mapa escolar como ‘epistemicidio’ de lo educativo: comprensión de la escuela desde los márgenes” (School map as “epistemicide” of education: understanding school from the margins).
His main scientific, academic and professional interest areas are the following ones: Decoloniality and critical education, Child education and complexities, Human motricity and good living and Narrative research in Education
He is PE professor by The Universidad de Valencia, Spain. Master’s degree in Latin-American Studies, mention in Philosophy, by the Universidad de La Serena, Chile, and PhD in Education by the Universidad de Granada, Spain.
