Laura Coll-Planas
Laura Coll-Planas has a degree in Medicine from the University of Barcelona and a PhD in Public Health from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Her doctoral thesis was entitled “Loneliness, social support and participation of large people from a health perspective”. After seven years in Germany combining research and clinical in the field of geriatrics, she joined the Institute of Aging of the UAB, now UAB Health and Aging Foundation, from where she has participated, coordinated and directed projects in aging in the regional area and European. Her passion in research in and with older people are complex interventions from a biopsychosocial perspective and combining quantitative and qualitative methodologies. Currently, in addition to being one of the main researchers of the Aequalis project, she is the scientific coordinator of the Sitless project, funded within the framework of the Horizon 2020 program of the European Commission. Since the 2018-19 academic year, she is a professor associated with the Faculty of Health and Welfare Sciences of the UCC-UVic.
