John Ong Kim Lee
John Ong Kim Lee was an Associate Professor at the National Institute of Education (NIE), Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore for 12 years from 01 January 2000. He was appointed Chair of the Department (Academic Group) of Policy and Leadership Studies from 01 July 2005 and for his last one year at the university, he was concurrently appointed as Associate Dean for research. He was Vice-President of the World Educational Research Association (WERA) for four years from 01 July 2012 to 30 June 2016.
Lee Ong Kim obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in 1992 in the area of Measurement, Evaluation and Statistical Analysis (MESA). His Master degree was from the University of Pittsburgh in the area of Research Methodology, received in 1984 while his first degree, a B.Sc. (Hons), was in Physics from the University of Malaya obtained in 1973. He has conducted training programs for education officers from the Maldives, Vietnam, Indonesia, Pakistan and Malaysia. He has also provided consultancy services to several divisions of the Malaysian Ministry of Education and non-governmental organizations in Malaysia, some schools in Singapore, the Ministry of Education and Youth in the United Arab Emirates, the Ministry of Education of Qatar, the National Institute of Educational Management in Vietnam, the Ministry of Education of the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Ministry of Education of Kuwait.
