Antoni Tolmos

Antoni Tolmos Lleida, 1970. Pianist, composer and lecturer. He is titled Superior in Piano, Musical Language and Theory of Music. He holds a PhD in Philosophy and Education Sciences. Expert in creativity and musical improvisation. Certified Professional Coach specialized in artistic performance. He is currently Professor of Music Education at the University of Lleida and at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. He has been Vice Dean of the Faculty of Education Sciences of the University of Lleida.
Antoni is arranger and artistic director of different record productions for other artists such as Spring Riot, Marc Marzenit, Meritxell Gené, etc. Musical Director of the “No Surrender Festival” and the show “Mamapop”. Founder and Director of the Music Down Orchestra composed of musicians with and without intellectual disabilities and also, together with Down Catalonia, the project “Momentos Down. How does your life sound? »With young people with Down syndrome. Creator of the documentary «sound identity» with Xavi Calderó. Creator of the “Nadales Tolmos” project and contest for girls and boys from 10 to 16 years of age.
His music has been programmed by international stations and televisions and is commercialized through digital platforms around the world. He regularly conducts concerts and gives lectures on musical creativity in Conservatories and Universities in countries such as Spain, Andorra, France, Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, Denmark, England and Italy.
His approach to jazz lands has led him to Jazz Festivals such as San Sebastian (2010), Jazz Festival of Granollers (2009) and Jazz Festival of Lleida (2007/2010) where he has recorded live CDs and DVDs.
He has published eleven albums: “Cristal” (CD 1999), “Silencis” (CD 2001), “Blanc” (CD 2003), “Sons de ciutat” (CD + DVD 2005), “Patio de luces” (CD +) DVD 2008), “Nit Urbana” (CD 2010), “Musicolors” (DVD 2011), “Essència popular” (CD 2011), “The new age piano album” (CD2013), “Energy” (CD2016) and Universe ( CD2019). He has published works for piano, for choir and for different instrumental formations, books, articles presented at International Conferences, etc. He is the author of the Doctoral Thesis on piano improvisation as a pedagogical tool and currently directs theses within the field of Music Education.
His challenge is to continue using his music as a source of happiness for those who listen to it.
