Michael Buroway Conference at UB (March 7)


On Thursday 7th March at 16h, at the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Economics and Business, we will have with us Michael Burawoy, Professor of the Department of Sociology, University of Berkeley and current President of the International Sociological Association (ISA). He will speak on: “NEW SOCIAL THEORY FOR NEW SOCIAL MOVEMENTS”.

Burawoy is known internationally for opening the debate on the current role and need of the Public Sociology, with a large global impact since he was President of the American Sociological Association in 2004. This conference is part of the cycle International Sociological Debates at the University of Barcelona (ISDUB) organized by the UB consolidated research groups linked to the Sociology. Following the resolution of the Board of Studies in Sociology.

7TH MARCH, from 16h to 18h, sociology CLASSES WILL MOVE to the Aula Magna so that all students can attend the ISDUB conferences.
